Online Writing Workshop: How to Break Through Writer's Block and Banish Bad Habits | måndag, 14. september 2020

Whether it's a nasty bout of writer's block, a hectic schedule, or a lack of confidence, nearly every writer suffers through dry seasons or times of feeling stuck in a less-than-satisfying routine. Brooke Preston, a founding editor of satire site The Belladonna Comedy, co-author of the satirical book New Erotica for Feminists, and writer whose work has appeared in The New York Times, McSweeney's, Real Simple, The Cut, and more, will share her own hard-won experience and practical tips and exercises to help writers at every level bust through bad habits, make smart goals, find fertile writing ground, and stretch themselves to level up.

Brooke Preston is an Ohio-based comedy writer, satirist, and storyteller. Her work has been featured on McSweeney’s, Reductress, Romper, Men's Health, The Huffington Post, and other fine outlets and crumpled napkins; she is a proud faculty member of The Second City, where she teaches the online satire writing program. Brooke is a co-founder and editor of The Belladonna Comedy, an online satire publication by women and non-binary writers, for everyone. She and her fellow editors co-wrote the satire book New Erotica for Feminists: Satirical Fantasies of Love, Lust and Equal Pay. Follow her on Twitter at @bigu.
